Lodhi Art District – India’s First Open-Air Art Gallery

Located in the area between Khanna Market and Meherchand Market in South Delhi, the Lodhi Art District is an interactive canvas where art and culture converge. As India’s first public art district, it transforms city walls into mural narratives, offering a fresh street art experience.

The Birth of Lodhi Art District

A St+art India Foundation project, it was initiated in 2016 with the vision of making art accessible to all. Over time, over 50 artists from across the globe have turned the ordinary walls of the locality into colorful works of art.

What to Expect

  1. Stunning Murals with Social Messages: Each wall speaks volumes – Indian myth and tribal art, on the one hand, and ideas related to climate change, women empowerment, and city identity, on the other. Artists like Yip Yew Chong (Singapore), Daku (India), and Hendrik ECB Beikirch (Germany) have all contributed their own zing to this urban art scenario.
  1. Multi-styles in Art: Get immersed in a variety of styles – 3D illusions, photorealism, typography, and abstract shapes – all blending into Lodhi Colony’s personality.
  1. Ideal Spot for Photography: The bright colors, massive murals, and artistic energy make Lodhi Art District an influencer, photographer, and Instagrammer’s heaven.
